While designing your home is no doubt exciting, the process can also be overwhelming. Trying to achieve the right balance of form and function has its challenges. Regardless of your style, the big picture and the small details are equally important.

We all know our home is an extension of our style. But what about when it’s time for an update? It can be tough to keep up with the latest design trends. That’s where we come in with our list of the 11 best home indoor decors! Once you have an idea in mind, browse our home decor accents to find the perfect details to complete your home!

Cozy Reading Spot- A space for a collection of interesting top-notch books is likely to encourage reading. Sends the message that reading was what they are supposed to be doing. Allows for retreat into a quiet spot free of distraction. Your reading area should include comfortable seating (bean bag chairs, pillows, carpet squares, even a small couch, if possible); a plant or two, and a couple of lamps for the atmosphere. Although a soft chair, plush throw pillow, and ottoman is an invitation to crack open a favorite read, a reading nook is a place where you can sit and take a breath. It should be a corner, or if you like, an entire room of your home dedicated to your needs and unique personality.

NOTE: No matter which reading nook route you go, making it a comfortable place doesn't take much, either. Style your space with plenty of soft, plush textiles—think throw pillows and fuzzy or knit blankets. Mood lighting—scented candles, task lights, or string lights—also make the private space feel warm.

Go Bold In Small Spaces- Interior design helps to uplift our spirits and also helps to effectively optimize the space in our home making the best use of the available space. Interior design plays a very important role in our life today, making our lifestyle more modern and stylish. ... This shows the importance of interior design.

NOTE: Modern - An Eco-Friendly Home is a trend during the early '20s.

Not being wasteful with materials, better insulation, using renewable energy, maximizing airflow to save on heating and cooling, smart home electrical systems, and using more efficient appliances are just a few of the benefits of building modern. One of the main benefits and principles of modern housing is maximizing the space and making it as functional and efficient as possible. High ceilings, wide corridors, and hallways create open spaces and natural airflow throughout the house.

Introduce Florals and Plants - Having plants in your home or office can be a source of pleasure. Indoor gardening relieves stress, boosts creativity, productivity, and focus, and promotes recovery. There's some evidence that houseplants may positively influence the air quality in your home as well. Not only do indoor plants enhance the overall appearance of a space, but studies show they boost moods, increase creativity, reduce stress, and eliminate air pollutants—making for a healthier, happier you. Indoor plants don't just look good—they can make us feel good, too.

5 Proven Benefits of Having Floral Arrangements in Your Office or Home

  • Flowers boost your mood.
  • Floral arrangements promote peaceful relaxation.
  • Flowers aid memory and recall.
  • Floral arrangements encourage socialization.
  • Flowers encourage creative thinking.

The art of floral design plays an important role in our society. It is an important part of social interactions and interior design. It is important in relationships and for enhancing the overall quality of our lives. Working with flowers is fun but also brings a dimension to our purely pleasing life.

Decorate an Empty Fireplace- A mantel, also known as a fireplace mantel or mantelpiece, frames the opening of a fireplace and often covers part of the chimney breast. In order to bring a more stylish look into your house, your fireplace can be a perfect object for it. Besides warming your house interior, a fireplace is very easy to be decorated. You can put a mirror, art, or family photos above it. Then balance them out with fireplace decors, such as a modern art piece or a tall plant placed in front of the fireplace.

Swap Your Throw Pillows-  The Sleep to Live Institute in America (which again has industry links) recommends replacing them every six months. Many – though not all – sleep experts say that if you fold your pillow in half and it doesn't spring open straight away by itself then it's dead: it can't support your head and neck, so bin it. Throw pillows do not have to all match. Select pillows that coordinate with a color scheme of one, two, or three colors. Pick at least one color already present in your room. As long as your pillows coordinate with each other on a pre-arranged color scheme, they will look as though they belong together.

\

NOTE: Throw pillows serve both an aesthetic and a functional purpose. Decorative pillows are commonly used to tie in color accents within a room, often drawing on the colors in drapes, walls, or area rugs. They can also be used to give a more casual feeling by looking as though they were thrown onto a piece of furniture.

Accent Wallpaper- Wallpaper adheres easily and smoothly to walls, hiding many surface imperfections. It can add warmth, depth, and style to a room that monotone paint simply cannot achieve. Beautiful designs, intriguing textures, and beautiful prints have an impactful effect on the décor of a room. You don't have to wallpaper your entire room—just pick a wall and accent with it. It's fast, easy, and makes a big difference.

For rooms where the walls are prone to get dirty, wallpaper is a great option. Besides being easy to clean, the patterns on the paper will help hide dirt and smudges. Finally, wallpaper can hide blemishes in the wall's plaster far better than a coat of paint.

NOTE: Wallpapers can last up to 15 years and have high sustainability and reliability. Whereas, wall paints have a tendency to get damaged easily. Paints can last on a well-prepared surface for 5-6 years, still needs to touch up every year or two. Selecting the right pattern, texture, and color for your wallpaper can make sure that the accent wall or room will not be visually overwhelming.

Rethink Your Gallery Wall- The general rule of thumb is that no more than one gallery wall should be hung per room, so if you're an art fanatic, you'll want to plan to spread your collection of prints throughout the house or apartment. If the walls in a hallway are feeling tired or lackluster, add a gallery wall. Bring in antique frames, hit up a thrift store or flea market, and arrange a ton of hand mirrors into a gallery wall. With gallery walls, a theme doesn't have to be present, but if there is it gives a more cohesive look to the space. The same goes for B&W or colors incorporated. Anything really goes with gallery walls, the key is to finding balance.

NOTE: Don't overdo it since your focal point is the accent wall. Break up the accent wall with one large picture or a grouping. When designing a grouping, avoid creating a competing pattern with too many different sizes of frames. Adjacent walls can be left bare or sparsely decorated to draw attention to the accent wall.

Rearrange Your Furniture-  As you re-arrange your personal space, you hone your aesthetic and identify what you truly love, want, or need. Such specificity brings relief, and re-purposing what's there is a feel-good option as opposed to buying new things. Improvement occurs without buyer's remorse and additional objects to manage. According to Psychology Today, rearranging a room can elevate your mood, instilling satisfaction, effectiveness, creativity, and comfort. It's also a simple way to clear your mind; just as you're cleaning the clutter of the room while rearranging your furniture, your mind becomes at ease, grounded, and clearer. Straightening, organizing, and shuffling stuff around will open your world to welcome new possibilities. It helps you to clear out the old to bring in the new!

Update Bedding Seasonally- Your bed is one of the most important pieces of furniture you own, and your bedsheets are the most important accessories. So, how often should you buy new sheets for optimal comfort? With this in mind, most experts recommend buying new sheets every two to three years if you're buying sheets of standard quality. So how many sets of sheets do you need? Most sources agree that three is the magic number when it comes to sheets.

NOTE: It's always a good idea to give the new bedding a quick wash before using. Washing all of that out removes any excess dye, chemical residues, and smell from the sheets prior to use. It also reduces the likelihood of any skin irritation that might come from sleeping in unwashed sheets or from having sensitive skin.

Show Off an Antique-  Choosing vintage means you're getting a unique piece that not many people own or have seen. Unlike mass-produced items, antiques are some of the highest quality furnishings on the market. Pieces like the ones mentioned above are refined, distinguished, and one-of-a-kind–all while being built to last. Antiquing is the ultimate in eco-friendly shopping. Antiques are inherently recycled and reused. And by buying an old piece, likely constructed before our dependence on oil, you are extending an already impressive life cycle! Very few products can claim such longevity. Solid wood furniture lasts an average of 10 to 15 years before it starts to show signs of aging, such as fading or cracking.

Everyone knows that the better shape something is in, the higher its value. Mint in the original box is usually the best for which you can strive. This means your item is untouched, unused, and is in its original packaging.

Add Color on Open Shelves-   Open shelving is also a good option if you have some odd, unusable space in your kitchen. This custom shelving around the door frame adds quite a bit of storage in an area that, otherwise, would have been wasted. Plus, open shelving is practical storage! I love being able to have everyday dishes on display that are easy to grab when fixing dinner. Additionally, open shelving can easily fit any design aesthetic. If you love a more modern or industrial look, consider steel open shelves Open shelves can seem appealing because people could use items they already own as decor pieces, which initially sounds fun and economically friendly. But it also requires people to keep their shelves looking tidy at all times, which can easily turn into a constant chore.

NOTE: Your everyday plates and glasses are great candidates for open shelving because you use and wash them frequently, so they don't have an opportunity to gather dust. The bonus of storing them on open shelving is that it cuts out a step when you're unloading the dishwasher.

Some of the most common items to spot on open kitchen shelves are daily essentials like coffee mugs, plates, and bowls. Items like this work well on open shelves for two reasons. First, they're kept in easy reach, which speeds up your morning just that little extra bit.
