These are either uncomfortable or impossible when squeezed into a tiny hotel room.

Privacy is my favorite pro that staying at an Airbnb offers. There are no other guests to worry about or to bother you. Heck, if you’ve got an entire house to yourself, you won’t encounter any people at all during your stay. Talk about relaxing!

Often at Airbnb, you won’t even meet the host or owner. Most properties have a key-code pad to unlock the doors, so no human interaction is necessary. I prefer this to checking in with an employee or innkeeper. Apart from not being disturbed, you can also come and go as you please without feeling the need to be quiet. You won’t have to share the pool or continental breakfast with inconsiderate strangers.

• Most Airbnb rentals have a kitchen

Giving you the option to prepare meals and snacks, saving you $$. The obvious one is a full kitchen. I’ve found that I usually only end up using the fridge and dishes. But even this makes a big difference when compared to tiny hotel mini-fridges and no available plates or silverware.

To me, having a kitchen is the biggest benefit of using Airbnb, I love preparing my meals when I’m traveling. I find I eat a lot healthier when I have access to a kitchen. With a full-size fridge, you can chill drinks, bring cold snacks, and have more room to store leftovers from restaurants. Additionally, you have the option of cooking instead of eating out for every meal, which could save you some money if traveling on a budget.

• Airbnb rentals can have better amenities than hotels or hostels

How does a private pool and spa sound? This can be a reality with Airbnb rentals. Not only that but you can just simply relax on its finest views available without getting stuck only in the four corners of your room. Many hosts personalize the service by leaving notes, champagne, and chocolates, making you feel comfortable and at home. In addition, Airbnb hosts provide guests with honest and local advice on things to do, places to eat, etc. rather than the touristy things to do. On occasions you may make friends with the host, leading to a local experience like no other. Depending on your preferences and budget, an Airbnb will often have more amenities than a regular old hotel.

• Groups Can Stay Together

A major bonus for long-term travelers and families. If you are traveling with a group, don’t get separate hotel rooms, rent a massive house so you can stay together. This can also be a cheaper option.

Not only is Airbnb great for travelers, but if you decide to become a host you can make extra cash to help you save for your next journey. Many travelers won’t want to give up the autonomy of staying at a hotel over sharing someone’s private home. But this is also a great way to get the word out that many Airbnb rentals are private. They offer all of the independence and privacy of a hotel room but can give a guest even more than a hotel has to offer.
